Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between RFID and GPS for asset tracking?

RFID tracks assets within a defined area (building, campus, warehouse) using fixed readers or handheld scanners. GPS tracks assets anywhere outdoors via satellite. Many organizations use both: RFID for indoor/facility tracking and GPS for vehicles and mobile assets.

Can I track assets on metal surfaces?

Yes. Standard RFID labels don't perform well on metal, but we offer on-metal labels and hard tags designed specifically for metal surfaces. These use a spacer layer that allows the RFID signal to work properly.

How do I track assets across multiple locations?

Each RFID tag has a unique ID that links to your asset management system. As long as each location has RFID readers (fixed or handheld), you can track assets as they move between sites.

What about small or curved assets?

We offer small-format labels and flexible tags that conform to curved surfaces. For very small items, we can recommend the smallest inlays available while maintaining good read performance.
